For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. Romans 5:6-11
The thing that amazes me the most about Christ is that He died for me. Here I am covered with sin. Lost and without direction. Yet he died for me. I did not have to change. I did not have to do better. I did not have to clean myself up. I did not have to do anything to merit salvation. Jesus did it all. He loved me so much that he willingly went to a death on a cross for me. He died so that I might live. It is hard to comprehend that the God of the universe would do this for me and all I have to do is follow Him.
On song that I cannot hear or sing without tears is Chris Tomlin’s “Amazing Love”. That song really convicts me that me a sinners is worthy of such love.
Amazing Love – Chris Tomlin
I’m forgiven because You were forsaken,
I’m accepted, You were condemned.
I am alive and well, Your spirit is within me,
Because You died and rose again.
How can it be
That You, my King, should die for me?
I know it’s true.
It’s my joy to honor You,
In all I do, I honor You.
God’s love is truly amazing.
Have a blessed day,
