Strive together in your prayers

I appeal to you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God on my behalf, that I may be delivered from the unbelievers in Judea, and that my service for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints, so that by God’s will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company. May the God of peace be with you all. Amen. Romans 15:30-33

If you could do only one thing for a person, what would it be? I think prayer would be the answer. It is something each of us can do and it cost us only our time. You don’t have to be rich to pray. You don’t need special skills to pray. You don’t have to be in a special place to pray. All you have to do is have a conversation with God. We are told throughout the Bible to be in prayer with God.

Paul constantly asked his fellow believers to pray for him and his ministry, just as Paul prayed for the church and those in the ministry with him. So we too need to be in prayer for each other. I too covet your prayers as I endeavor to write these daily missives. Pray that I will be faithful to God’s word and that I will get out of the way and let Him speak. Pray that these words will somehow touch others and maybe bring someone closer to Jesus.

Each day I posts what I have emailed to each of you to my blog and then to my Facebook page. Pray that those who are directed to by blog during their searches will be ministered to and my friend that read my Facebook page will also be touched by His glory. Also pray for the post I make on weekends that only appear on my blog, that they too will be for His glory.

Pray always, without ceasing.

Have a blessed day,

About dwwork

The name of this blog is taken from 1 Peter 3:13 - “always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience. This verse became special to me over ten years ago when I was asked to teach an adult Sunday school class on Christian apologetics. This interest grew over the years to the point that I took some graduate level classes in apologetics. I think the best way to be prepared to give and answer to everyone who asks is to know scripture. It is my hope that through these short devotionals the reader will become more familiar with each verse. I have tried when possible to make them personal hoping in some small way to show that God’s word written over two thousand years ago is still relevant today. In the writing of these short devotionals I have been able to better understand how God’s word impacts my life. It is my hope that you too will come closer to our Lord Jesus and develop a closer relationship with Him. Finally, if the reader finds anything in conflict with scripture please let me know. God’s word is the final authority always overrules anything I might write. David
