Each according to its kind

And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so. And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:24-25

That cats give birth to cats, fish to fish, dogs to dos and people to people is pretty obvious. Even children can grasp this idea. When we look around at nature we see one kind of creature always give birth to the same kind of creature. For most of human existence this has been observed as true. The in the late nineteenth century that changed. We were asked to believe that kinds changed over time. Animals evolved and changed into entirely different kinds of animals and that this had been happening for millions of years. Evolution became the touchstone of biology and every thinking person should embrace this theory.

Yet, the funny thing was that when we observed the animals around us we did not see this change. In fact this change seems to have stopped with at the least recorded history. We continued to discover many different kinds of animals but they always remained the same. It seems that evolution just stopped. Why this is so if very hard to get an answer to. I have found some answers but they just lead to more questions. I was told that species have become specialized and they now only give birth to their own kind. What remains unanswered is why species are specialized today and not in the past or why this specializations seems to have happened today.

Once again, the Bible tells us what we observe in nature that kind begets kind. Too often scientists come up with theories in order to do away with God. In the end science will always show God’s truth. Scientists once believed the universe was eternal and there was no need for a creator then they discovered that the universe did have a beginning. Darwin proposed the theory of evolution and once again tried to get God out of the picture. Today science is discovering how complex life is and it looks like God just will not go away.

God’s word is changeless and we have been given the answers for over four thousand years. Man tries to get God out of the picture but the truth keeps surfacing. God will not be denied.

Have a blessed day,

About dwwork

The name of this blog is taken from 1 Peter 3:13 - “always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience. This verse became special to me over ten years ago when I was asked to teach an adult Sunday school class on Christian apologetics. This interest grew over the years to the point that I took some graduate level classes in apologetics. I think the best way to be prepared to give and answer to everyone who asks is to know scripture. It is my hope that through these short devotionals the reader will become more familiar with each verse. I have tried when possible to make them personal hoping in some small way to show that God’s word written over two thousand years ago is still relevant today. In the writing of these short devotionals I have been able to better understand how God’s word impacts my life. It is my hope that you too will come closer to our Lord Jesus and develop a closer relationship with Him. Finally, if the reader finds anything in conflict with scripture please let me know. God’s word is the final authority always overrules anything I might write. David
