And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food. And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so. And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day. Genesis 1:28-31
When God had finished creating the world and all the creatures in it He saw it as very good. And so it was until humans decided rather than obey God they could become like God. It was then that evil gained a foothold on earth. And with evil came spiritual death. Sin was in the world and it would take the greatest sacrifice ever to allow us to overcome our sin nature and get into a right relationship with God.
Even though evil came into the world when Adam and Eve sinned, good never left. We can still see the good in God’s creation. When I see a hummingbird at one of our feeders I see the awe and goodness in creation. When I witnessed the birth of my children is saw the good and innocence in God’s creation. A few months ago I saw a bald eagle fly overhead as I sat in my yard and once again I saw the beauty and goodness in creation.
Sometimes we fixate on all the evil around us and when we do that we miss out on how good God’s creation is. No matter how much evil humans and Satan bring into the world God’s goodness as shown in His creation can never be overshadowed. We can choose to ignore the good and only notice the bad but the good is there we only need open our eyes and see.
On the sixth day God finished creating by bringing humans into the world. Then God looked around at His creation and behold, it was very good.
Have a blessed day,
